Works: 'The Standard of the Patent Application Number of China', 'The Standard of the Patent Document Number of China' and 'The Standard of the Identification Codes of Patent Document Types of China'. Also he was a drafter of the programme of the Reference Formulae for Office Action used by SIPO now.

Mr. YAN, Yonggang specializes in the mechanical and electronic engineering aspects of patent protection. Mr. YAN's patent expertise covers mechanical and electronic engineering, including transportation such as land vehicles, aircraft; aviation; cosmonautics, cycles, and computer hardware, computer software related inventions, computer peripheral devices, automatic control, mechanical-electrical integration, and household appliances

Mr. YAN has handled a large number of patent applications and inquiries in nearly 10 years. He also provides legal services regarding patent inquiry and search, patent review and invalidation, patent administrative proceedings, investigation of patent infringement by administrative authority, licensing and assignment of patents and know-how, and other matters related to intellectual property rights.

Mr. DUAN, Zexian

Mr. DUAN, Zexian specializes in the applied mechanical engineering aspects of patent protection.

DUAN, Zexian's patent expertise covers a variety of areas of mechanical engineering including automotive manufacturing, construction engineering, printing device, communication device, agriculture machinery, household appliances and other household goods.

Mr. DUAN has handled a large number of patent applications and advised in numerous patent cases. He also has provided legal services to major international clients in patent application/inquiry/search, patent re-examination and invalidation, patent infringement analysis, patent administrative proceedings, patent tort proceedings, administrative investigation and disposition of patent infringement, licensing and assignment of patents and know-how, and other related matters related to intellectual property rights.

Practice specialties:

Patent applications, invalidation, reexamination, administrative and infringement litigation, and patent search in the field of organic chemistry, polymer material chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, and petrochemistry, etc.

Mr. CHEN, as a patent attorney, he concentrates his practice on intellectual property acquisition and protection, including acquiring, litigating, and evaluating patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and enforcing and defending intellectual property rights before people's courts and State Intellectual Property Office.

He is extensively experienced in prosecuting patents for biotechnical, pharmaceutical and chemical inventions. Additionally she is active in patent infringement, patentability opinions and searches, patent validity and clearance opinions, and patent litigation. Prior to her experience at SEMENY, he has been an examiner of the SIPO for over 4 years.

Ms. Li is a patent attorney specialized in electronics, computer and information device. Ms. Li received her M.S. and B.S. in electronics engineering from Gifu University(Japan) and  Beijing University of Technology. She also received her M.S. in law from Renmin University. Prior to her experience at SEMENY, she worked as an examiner in the department of Utility model in China Patent Office. After joining us, she focuses her practice on patent prosecution including preparing and translation of patent documents.

Languages: Chinese, Japanese and English.

Professional Experience

Ms. WANG focuses her practice in the area of trademark prosecution, trademark litigation and trademark licensing. Having served as Trademark Counsel for some famous companies, she has accumulated a wide range of experience in client counseling and trademark registration matters, as well as related licensing and litigation matters. Ms. WANG has handled thousands of trademark registrations, trademark opposition and trademark disputes in China for six years.

Professional Experience

After finished his postgraduate courses, Mr. SUN joined an institute of Chinese Aerospace Academy and engaged in development of machining process and structure design for various electronic products for about two years. After that, Mr. SUN joined a software company and worked there for three years as a software engineer. Mr. SUN is very experienced in mechanical design and information technology due to above mentioned experiences.

Mr. SUN has handled about one thousand IP cases which cover new application, response to Office Action, reexamination and invalidation since he turned into IP field. Therefore he is becoming an experienced expert in patent prosecution and other patent-related matters.

Professional Experience

Mr. Zhu worked as a R&D engineer for Founder R&D Center to do research work related to Speech Signal Processing from 1998 to 2000. Then he joined Beijing Hangwei Electronics Company and was responsible for software development of Office Automation System as a technical leader until the end of 2003.

Before joined SEMENY, Mr. Zhu worked as a patent attorney for a big Chinese IP firm. He ever handled hundreds of patent applications in the field of computer technology, communication technology, electronic technology, semiconductor technology etc. and was involved in the affairs of patent application, prosecution, re-examination, invalidation etc. With the rich experience in the technology and the good understanding of IP laws, Mr. Zhu will provide the excellent service of IP to the clients.
